[velocity]

Velocity measures how fast something moves in a particular direction. For instance, if an object moves east at 7 metres per second, we would say that its velocity is 7 m/s to the east.

With an infragate it is very easy to measure the velocity. The infragete saves the time, when the object first covers the sensor, than saves the time when the object lefts the gate. We know the lenght of the object, that is the distance, and we know the difference of the two times.

v = s / t

Measured in m/s
